VOLUNTEER - Northamptonshire
Dean served for 6.5 years in the Royal Logistic Corps, completing operational tours in Bosnia and Iraq. He was medically discharged in 2004 due to PTSD, which has given him a first-hand understanding of the challenges many veterans face in civilian life.
With his extensive experience in volunteer support for veterans, Dean has worked as a Welfare Caseworker with The Royal British Legion and has provided vital assistance to patients and families at Cynthia Spencer Hospice in various roles, including fundraising and end-of-life care support.
Now, Dean joins the Veterans Community Network as a Voluntary Peer Support Mentor. He is committed to leveraging his lived experience to enhance veteran wellbeing services and support fellow veterans on their journey toward a brighter future.

AMBASSADOR - Northamptonshire
I served with the 1st Battalion, Grenadier Guards for over seven years. During this period, I undertook ceremonial duties in London, including Trooping the Colour. Following my initial service in a Rifle Company, I joined the Mortar Platoon within the Support Company. In 2009, during my tour in Afghanistan, I sustained injuries in a rogue policeman incident. This led to many years of physical and mental recovery. Having received invaluable support from Gill and her colleagues at VCN, I am honoured to serve as an Ambassador for the organisation. In this role, I champion their excellent veteran wellbeing services and peer support mentoring, providing volunteer support for veterans who may be facing similar difficulties.

VOLUNTEER
I am a cabinetmaker with over 10 years of woodworking experience and a range of skills in other construction areas. I would like to utilise these skills to provide volunteer support for veterans, helping with upkeep and maintenance at RVP Poddington, while also contributing to peer support mentoring initiatives that enhance veteran wellbeing services.

VOLUNTEER - BEDFORD & MILTON KEYNES
