visit to caddington grove care center

visit by gill and wilf

On 09 May 2025, Gill and Wilf visited Caddington Grove Care Home in Dunstable and met some wonderful folk who were military family members and a couple of veterans who hadn't realised national service counts!

it was lovely to spend time with the veteran residents

They heard some stories of what it was like living in Dunstable during the war and the experiences of food rationing and air raid shelters. Then they offered them all the chance to do some stitches on our VE/VJ commemorative tapestry.

thank you to the residents and staff for being so welcoming

It was lovely to see how happy they were when they got their certificates. Gill and Wilf have been invited back later in the year to show them how the tapestry is getting on.

The home is also going for the Veteran Friendly Frame work accreditation through the Royal Star and Garter.

supported by the VPPP proramme

The VCN through the Veterans Voice Programme is proud to be supporting them with this by raising awareness of the issues Veterans face and the specialist services that are available.
